We knew we had to do a special millennium piece, and the digital look was perfect. At the time we actually had 3 other futuristic looks, but this fit the time and we weren't wrong...we sold out of these quickly. Simple but effective.

Brothaman started in 1990-1994 It started out as a all headwear with American Needle. Consisting of cool sayings and fresh designs right at the time Karl Kani & Cross colors (that whole urban axplosion was happening). You can still see pieces of Brotherman on reruns of Martin, Living Single, Yo Mtv Raps, and countless videos. Now we are not rookies.

Sista girl came out of Brotha man to give ladies and guys with dreads a dope hat to wear. This introduced the backout cap wich was and still is a dope invention from the mind of Afro co owner Mustafa. This piece can bee seen in Queen Latifahs video U.N.I.T.Y., definantly don't sleep on this hat and idea.

1997 Afro Logo

1997 "Afro Logo" this piece represents the brand on a global level...to tone the flag down and bring a subtleness to the garment. On further expection you'll notice the circle around the A is for original , the A of course stands for Afro , and if you look closer you will see the W for wear aka AOW. This will later be used on the chest, bottom, back, or BIG in your face as a logo should.

1996 "Afro America" was originaly designed in 1994 by Co -owner Mustafa Rocks, being a fan of Ralph Lauren and Perry Ellis, he incorparatd the Afro logo into the american flag and instantly knew he had something special...and relevant to black culture in a more powerful way. It became our first logo for the Afro wear brand , and was official Oct. 1996. This was also the year we landed our first accounts.
